Run Where History Was Made. After a yearlong break, Wesness is back in Kolkata’s most iconic streets! Come see them on foot, with a community of women, before the city wakes up.
Event Overview
This 3.5 km heritage run covers 5 landmarks, offering a morning you won’t forget. No training is needed, just a desire to explore 150–250 years of history at each stop.
The Route
- 6:30 AM — Westside, Statesman House (est. 1875): Your starting point.
- 7:00 AM — Raj Bhavan (Built 1803): A century of imperial power. Walk its full perimeter at sunrise.
- 7:10 AM — St. John’s Church (Built 1787): Kolkata’s oldest church, set in a tree-lined garden.
- 7:20 AM — Kolkata GPO · The Grand Dome (Built 1868): Some of Asia’s finest colonial architecture, standing exactly where Fort William once stood.
- 7:30 AM — Writers’ Buildings · BBD Bagh (Built 1777): Where the 1930 freedom movement made history.
- 7:40 AM — Indian Museum · Chowringhee (Founded 1814): 26 Corinthian columns in the morning sun. The oldest museum in the Asia-Pacific.
- 7:50 AM — Back at Westside: Community fun activities and your Westside goodies.
