KIMSHEALTH DBM 2026: Desinganad Backwaters Marathon

About the Event

The fifth edition of KIMSHEALTH DBM 2026 (DESINGANAD BACKWATERS MARATHON) is primarily conducted with the aim of improving the mental health of individuals, which will bring down the suicide tendency among people. It is a proven fact that people with strong mental health lead a happy life and are strong enough to handle difficult situations. With this object in mind, this year’s DBM carries the slogan “Arise, Awake, Align your mind”. Regular physical activity leads to a healthy body and a healthy mind, which can definitely bring down the menace of increasing suicide tendency, especially among the younger generation. Let us together bring in the culture of a healthy lifestyle and thereby a healthy mind. The event also seeks to promote good health & wellness across the state & provide an opportunity for beginners and seasoned runners to come together to celebrate running.

Flag-off Timings

• Half Marathon (HM): 4:30 AM
• 10 KM: 5:15 AM
• 3 KM: 7:00 AM

Age Categories (Male & Female)

• Up to 39 years
• 40 to 54 years
• 55 to 64 years
• 65 years and above

(Applicable for All Age Categories and Genders of the participants of Half Marathon and 10 KM Only)

Prizes

Half Marathon

• 1st Prize: ₹10,000/-
• 2nd Prize: ₹5,000/-
• 3rd Prize: ₹3,000/-

10 KM Race

• 1st Prize: ₹5,000/-
• 2nd Prize: ₹3,000/-
• 3rd Prize: ₹2,000/-

Venue & Location

The venue for the Desinganad Backwaters Marathon (DBM) 2026 – 5th Edition will be Asramam Ground, Kollam, Kerala. The Asramam ground is located at 1.5 Kms from Kollam Railway Station and just one Kilometre away from the KSRTC Bus stand, Kollam. The nearest airport is Trivandrum, which is around 70 Kms away.
